Did Jesus Heal a “Same Sex Partner”?

An article appeared last week in The Huffington Post entitled, “When Jesus Healed a Same-Sex Partner.” The author argues that the word translated as “servant” in Matthew 8 and Luke 7 actually should be rendered as “lover.” This change would mean that, when Jesus healed the centurion’s servant, He actually was healing the centurion’s same-sex partner.

Dr. James White of Alpha & Omega Ministries responds to this appalling argument.

  1. I shall listen in the morrow – but am most confident I will thank the Lord for James White’s perspective. I am in line with you, Mike :-)

  2. Did you ever in your wildest “late night pizza eating binge” dreams think that exegesis would be needed for this type of abomination to the Holy Word of God?!?!

  3. No Mickey and I believe this sort of idiocy that is, as you said, blatant blasphemy, is part of God’s judgment as Paul described in Romans 1. God’s common grace obviously includes the ability to reason and includes “common sense reasoning,” which people who do things like this have lost. I have long held that those who have fallen into the Post-Modernism have lost the ability to reason and we are seeing more and more of this. This abomination is quite tame when compared to that of what Harry Knox does. He is a defrocked “pastor” who lost his pastorate and was “fired” by his denomination because he preached pro-homosexual sermons twisting the Holiness Code from Leviticus and what Paul taught in his Epistles. He is “married” to his male lover and is and adviser to Barack Obama. Do you get it? These are dark times.

Ken Silva and I were talking last night and we are both in agreement that God has is using these horrible things to raise up some of us to fight the good fight. Therefore, we must do so just as Dr. White said so at the end of the video. As you said, I never thought I would see or hear anything like this, but here we are.

Have you seen the movie “Act of Valor”?

There is a line in it that I really think fits this “struggle” or Truth War. “War is a battle of will. There’s a brotherhood between us. And if you’re not willing to give up everything, you’ve already lost.”

We have to remain faithful and vigilant and that also means totally reliant upon the Lordship of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit as we abide in Jesus. We cannot do this in and of ourselves.

    Soli Deo Gloria!

  4. No I havn’t seen the movie. We used to watch TV and movies but we don’t much any more. TV is in the basement in the corner, no cable either. What a relief! When we visit folks we are amazed that they can’t turn the things off, plus the Cialis commercials running during kids shows confirm for us that our lifestyle choice was prudent. Now we actually talk to one another, and have the bible on CD on quite often.
Back when we did do movies the only ones I ever got to see were chick flicks like “Fried Green Tomatoes” or anything Julia Roberts, or for propaganda purposes and retraining, “Father of the Bride.” My wife actually cried during that movie, and when I asked her why, she said because I would be just like Steve Martin character. Personally I see nothing wrong with a barbacue reception!

  5. I hardly ever watch TV Mickey except for the News and even then it mostly just to get the Weather. The commercials drive me nuts, especially during election years. I bought the movie Act of Valor because I am a US Navy Veteran and actually had friends who were Navy SEALS/UDT/Divers. The ones I knew in California taught me how to survive in the water. WHen I think of the adjective “Cool” I think of a Navy SEAL. :-)

  6. As usual, James does yeoman work in explaining Scripture. Sad part is that those who hold to the false teaching he is refuting will not understand unless the Lord give them ears to hear and a new heart to desire Truth. None the less, we are called to be faithful to the message of our God and trust Him for all outcomes.

  7. Amen Manfred. Those whom he was refuting “walk in the futility of their minds, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their hearts, and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.” (paraphrase of Ephesians 4:17-19) However, we are called to remain faithful and contend for faith to be ready to give an account for the hope that we have in us.

  8. Excellent Answer Mike with Romans chapter 1.. It’s very VERY sad that these people are being given over to a depraved mind..

  9. I listened to Christopher Yuan give his testimony. He was a former homosexual.. One thing he said that I did not know was that the Homosexual who is so deeply entrenched in this lifestyle when the get AIDS they wear it like a badge of honor and want to infect others. This is how utterly reprobate many are…
