“On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 25:6-8 ESV)
I have been in “conversation” with a person over the last several days who is apparently an apostate with a degree in theology. When I try to get this person to read a passage of scripture so I can make a point, the resistance to do so is incredible. This person’s attacks on what we hold dear are centered on two things, our faith and the Bible as the Word of God.
It was through this little skirmish and others I have had over the last several weeks that I have seen how incredible this faith is that God has given His people. Only those with the gift of faith (Ephesians 2:1-10) hold the promises from the Bible as truth from God Himself. Those without it see those things as foolishness. Continue reading
