In my Resurrection Sunday post, Dead to Sin but Alive to God, we saw the incredibly gracious work of God in our purchase at the Cross. When God called us to believe, as we were given eyes to see and ears to hear, and a new heart; we were delivered from the power of sin, which it had over us. Below is part of a comment I received on this post that was too vile to pass moderation. I have censored the profanity.
mike oh mike, i see you have been <censor> quite a bit?
sin has no power over you? pls. how long are you gonna live in deception and how long are you gonna lie to your readers?
the concept of law,sin and grace have been taken out of context. only idiots like you can preach it that way.

Needless to say, I went back to my post and looked to see if I could discern what had triggered this. What I had stated in my post was word for word from God’s Word. Those in Christ are dead to sin, but alive to God. He has delivered them from its penalty and curse. However, I am fully aware that there are some who add their own doctrines to God’s Word in attempts to add works as necessary for our salvation. These same people also teach that one sin just before death, if there isn’t time for confession and absolution from a priest then… You get the idea. To the person who wrote that comment; I was simply quoting scripture from God’s Word. If you have a problem with what it says then I suggest you take it up with God Himself. Continue reading
