22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:22-23 (NASB)
Our enemy is working overtime to distract us from the truth. What do I mean? We have pressure from corrupt governments all over the world attempting to become totalitarian. What that means for Christians is that we must know whom we serve, who is our Lord, and to whom we owe our allegiance. We can only bow to Caesar so much, but when he attempts to usurp what is the Lord’s we must do as John MacArthur and his church did and what those pastors in Canada did when their local governments attempted to lock them down. The Lord Jesus Christ is over His Church not governments. It can be costly, but Jesus said it would be.
With that fully up front in our minds we must also understand that the visible church is under attack from within by apostates with their Marxist agenda called “Woke” or Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality. All of those things are based in Cultural Marxism from the philosophy put forward by the Frankfurt School. I have posted about these things before, but we must understand that this is just another tentacle of our enemy’s attack on the Church. So we have corrupt governments attacking our personal freedoms and we have apostates attempting to take over our denominations from within with Marxist philosophy that is 100% anti-Gospel because it is all about the secular and not about the eternal in any way whatsoever.
The corrupt governments are attempting to use the Covid-19 pandemic scare to leverage there agendas. It really bothers me when I encounter professing believers who insist on living in fear of this. There was a person who used to write for CRN who left. We were friends on Facebook for quite a long time even after that. However, when this Covid-19 stuff started I began seeing some of her posts on FB that really alarmed me. I went to her page and asked her why she was lining up with the CDC and actually contributing to causing people to be fearful. She complained that the CDC was in her city and it was, “Just overwhelming.” I then asked her where her faith was. Then another person on her page tried to keep me from conversing with my friend and I soon understood where the “liberalism” that was going on there was coming from. I exited and never went back.
So, my brethren. Are you living in fear or are you walking in faith? I don’t think we are asked by our Lord to have blind faith, but we are to understand who is really Lord and who is not. Who is in control of your life from the day you are born to the day you die? Your days are numbered. They are fully in control of our God. Why then should we live in fear? The following devotion from Charles Spurgeon for today is from Spurgeon’s Morning by Morning.
C. H. Spurgeon
“The Lamb is the light thereof.”—Revelation 21:23.
UIETLY contemplate the Lamb as the light of heaven. Light in Scripture is the emblem of joy. The joy of the saints in heaven is comprised in this: Jesus chose us, loved us, bought us, cleansed us, robed us, kept us, glorified us: we are here entirely through the Lord Jesus. Each one of these thoughts shall be to them like a cluster of the grapes of Eshcol. Light is also the cause of beauty. Nought of beauty is left when light is gone. Without light no radiance flashes from the sapphire, no peaceful ray proceedeth from the pearl; and thus all the beauty of the saints above comes from Jesus. As planets, they reflect the light of the Sun of Righteousness; they live as beams proceeding from the central orb. If He withdrew, they must die; if His glory were veiled, their glory must expire. Light is also the emblem of knowledge. In heaven our knowledge will be perfect, but the Lord Jesus Himself will be the fountain of it. Dark providences, never understood before, will then be clearly seen, and all that puzzles us now will become plain to us in the light of the Lamb. Oh! what unfoldings there will be and what glorifying of the God of love! Light also means manifestation. Light manifests. In this world it doth not yet appear what we shall be. God’s people are a hidden people, but when Christ receives His people into heaven, He will touch them with the wand of His own love, and change them into the image of His manifested glory. They were poor and wretched, but what a transformation! They were stained with sin, but one touch of His finger, and they are bright as the sun, and clear as crystal. Oh! what a manifestation! All this proceeds from the exalted Lamb. Whatever there may be of effulgent splendour, Jesus shall be the centre and soul of it all. Oh! to be present and to see Him in His own light, the King of kings, and Lord of lords!
I for one am fully ready to be with my Lord forever. I honestly never thought I would witness such corruption in our government nor the complete apostasy we are witnessing at the elite level of our denominations and seminaries. However, we must never forget the following passage.
13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” 15 He *said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Matthew 16:13-18 (NASB)
Who builds His Church? Is it men or is it Christ? Christ builds His Church and it will never be overpowered by the works of our enemy. Therefore, let us prayerfully be bold and eternally focused as we obey our Lord in all we do. To Him be all the glory forever.
Soli Deo Gloria!
