31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written,
“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;
WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”
37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:31-39 (NASB)
If you look at the links on this blog you will find one to The Sacred Sandwich. Keeping things in context with my last few posts such as The Spirit of Fear, I am linking to a fine essay by C.R. Carmichael from September 1 of this year. He is a fine essayist and I believe he nails this topic succinctly. As I read this essay I kept confirming what he was saying with affirmations and comparisons to the very things me and many of you have been saying for past several months.
God is giving us warnings of what is coming my brethren. He is doing this so we will not caught off guard when certain horrible things happen “all at once” that we read of in prophecies in God’s Word, but most of us probably never thought we would see in our lifetimes. Here is the link to the essay. Lastly, here is a link to a video another friend sent to me today about these same topics. I believe with what we are seeing and with the Jewish New Year just days away followed closely by Yom Kippur that we had better get our houses in order and resolve to do what our Lord has commanded for us to do while standing firm in not submitting to the Spirit of Fear.
I will end this post with this. I have had encounters with people over the past several days about those masks. I live in the Oklahoma City area. I took my wife to the airport Thursday so she could fly to visit our son in Washington, D.C. She is still there as I write this. In any case, you have to wear a mask at the airport and on the planes. I was carrying mine as I pulled my wife’s luggage through the parking garage. As we got on an elevator to go down one level another couple were doing the same thing. I started to put mine on, but I said, “Here is this useless mask.” The female part of that other couple glared at me and said, “They are NOT useless!” I pointed to the logo on my mask which is from the company I work for which is a very large Healthcare company. I didn’t say anything else. Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart to get some things and there was a lady at the door offering masks to people when they went in. She asked me if I wanted one. I told her no. She acted irritated at that, but I just smiled and went in. Today I went to get my haircut. When I went in there were no other customers. I sat down in my chair and they went to work on me. No issues at all. However, a few minutes later a couple of families came in and they were all wearing masks. They asked why the employees weren’t wearing them. I just ignored them. As I was checking out the husband, a very large man, who was wearing a very large blue mask, glared at me as I got my military discount and I tipped the lady who cut my hair and I checked out.
Now what is the common denominator? These people have bought into the lie that if one person isn’t obeying what they believe is best for the group then bad things will happen to their group, which is IDOLATRY. I have personal rights and so do they, but groups do not. As soon as people give into groupthink then we are back to Nebuchanezzar making everyone bow down to his golden idol so nothing horrible will happen to the group. This is nothing but idolatry. Christians should have nothing to do with thinking like this for those who do are being controlled by the Spirit of Fear.
Soli Deo Gloria!
